1. White, long-sleeve, button-down oxford shirt. Men must wear a white crew neck undershirt. Kohl’s offers a shirt for less than $20 and it is wrinkle free. It can be purchased either in their store or on the web.

5. One vest is issued by Blackstone Caterers.
6. You must have a lighter, and a corkscrew on you at all times.
7. Long hair must be tied back and up at all times. Your hair needs to be pulled back and tied with a simple black band. No colored ribbons or bows! No pig-tails.
4. Men must be clean shaven. If your hair has a tendency to falling in front of your eyes, please use hair spray or gel to help keep it in place. If men do have a mustache or beard it must be neatly trimmed. NO 5 o’clock shadow.
5. Hands and Nails - Hands and nails must be very clean, and nails well trimmed. Ladies finger nail polish mush be a subtle neutral tone.
6. Set-up Attire - White color polo’s are acceptable to wear with your uniform pants. NO halter tops, muscle shirts, belly shirts, shorts, skirts, or T-shirts with visible sayings or logos.
7. Jewelry - Please no “Flashy jewelry” or visible multiple piercing. A basic watch and single ring on each hand may be worn. NO bracelets or visible necklaces please! Women may wear only small post earrings only.
8. Personal Hygiene - Because you work in such close proximity to guests, it is important that you take the proper precautions not to “offend” them. Deodorant and mints are a must. Please avoid strong perfumes and colognes. Women must wear only a minimum amount of make-up.
Please see a manager prior to event if you question whether or not your pants are acceptable.
Any replacement ties or vests may be purchased at Blackstone Caterers.
Priority Dates - Priority dates are days in which we have multiple events being held or a high profile event for the company. We expect all staff to commit to working with the company on these days. If you know that you will be unavailable for these days, please do not commit to working them.
Start Times - Start time represents the time you “must be at your scheduled location, fully dressed in proper set up uniform and ready to receive instructions”. Allow yourself plenty of time for travel, especially in the summer time and your first time at a particular venue.
Sign-in/Sign Out Procedures-Remember, a call time represents the time all staff must be at their scheduled locations, completely dressed, and ready to receive instruction. When checking in at a particular venue, allow yourself plenty of time for your travels especially in the summer and if it is the first time working at a particular venue. Signing-in and signing-out is your responsibility, therefore you must sign-in and out with a captain to be considered present for that event. Sign in locations may vary from venue to venue.
Schedule
The schedule is done approximately 1-2 week in advance.
The scheduling policy is we will email the schedule on Tuesday evening between 4:00 and 7:00. Please confirm your schedule by email at scheduler@blackstonecaterers.com.
You must confirm your schedule by Thursday at noon. If it is not confirmed at that time the hours are not guaranteed. Once you have confirmed your schedule you are responsible for your shifts.
If you can only work a select few of your shifts only email us letting us know which shifts you CAN work. Please reference the event date!
If you cannot work any of the shifts please send a note stating so we will know you at least got the email!
After the initial email goes out and staff is confirmed you will be contacted on an individual basis to see if you can work any shifts that are not completely filled. At this time you can pick up more shifts.
If for any reason your email is not working please call in for your schedule on Wednesday and confirm your shifts over the phone.
Call Outs
Two hour notice prior to the event is required for any call out. Please call the direct line only for emergencies 848-2030 and speak to a manager. Also, email the scheduler. If no one is in at the office please call your list of managers.

The pay period runs Monday through Sunday. Paychecks will be mailed to all employees on the following Friday. Direct deposit is also available and we strongly encourage all our employees to take advantage of this option.
Please update the office with a personal change form if you move and/or want to inform us where you want your W2 to go during tax season.
It is your responsibility to inform us immediately of a email change or cell phone change.
